GWS A-10 with E Tec 1200 2SP1

Are the E tec 1200mah batteries rated @ 5C or 6C? I see both answers on different threads.

GWS says the A-10 EDF 55 motor draws 3.39amp x 2 = 6.78amp.

5C=6 amp which is not enough
6C=7.2amp which works.

Thanks for the info.

6C is ok. Life duration might be somewhat shorter, but they will handle it.

I've seen 6C as the max, but 4C as the recommended discharge rate if one cares about longevity.

Takao Shimizu did life cycle testing on an Etec 1200 2S1P pack(see this thread). After 100 cycles at 8.2A discharge (almost 7C), it was still delivering 96% capacity.

This configuration should suit the GWS A10 well, the only problem being how to get the CG far enough forward. My solution was to build a battery box in the nose. The battery will be loaded through the original hatch (that way I can still use a heavier battery if desired).

I did fly the a-10 with a single etec 1200 pack in the nose (2s1p) but it got quite warmish hot (too hot for my comfort) so I went to 2s2p. I also had to wedge the 2s1p pack as far as physically possible into the nose area for it to balance.

Edit - Now that it is winter I wonder if I should go back to 2s1p as the heat may actually help some
