Photohigher av200 direct drive beta test 1

PHOTOHIGHER DIRECT DRIVE AV200 BETA TEST 1 (5 min 23 sec)

As promised -

Here is a test I shot this afternoon with the new skyline stabilized direct drive upgrade to the Photohigher AV200 gimbal - beta version.

The test starts with some nice gentle flight and ends with some aggressive moves.

I shot the test with my GH2 with the 7-14 lens set at 7mm. Kimberly says the brushless direct drive AV200 will handle any camera from a gopro through to the Canon 5D.

All I can say is that this is the future of remote aerial camera stabilization right here. The gimbal has such an incredible lock and this is just the beta phase - the plan is to make a few tweaks to the hardware and firmware and have the product ready for release in about 6 weeks from now.

Pan stabilization will follow - Photohigher are on their way to some pretty impressive stuff with this technology.

Sorry about the random exposure shifts I had been playing with my GH2 and had it set on shutter priority - I will shoot and post some footage from my 550D in the next few days.

Cheers and Peace.

That Panny cam looks great

I'd be interested in what the conversion cost is to change my just purchased AV200 over to direct drive!

Hi Tony - you can download it from Vimeo I think ? - all I have done to the clip is convert the .MTS file to Prores 422 at 720. I threw in some music 'cos the raw flight noise gets annoying quickly.

Big waves yesterday - crisp offshore and 15ft sets on the bommies in the a.m - cowabunga !

To the best of my knowledge there will be an upgrade for the AV130 but best check direct with Photohigher.

I am fitting the next version tray later today and will post some pics after that.

That's really nice... as long as it competes with the cinestar gimbal pricing and not the dji zenmuse prices im happy
