I remember reading somewhere that DVa pilots frequently removed the headrests to improve vision to the rear.

Good progress Phillip.
My SE5a is 1/10 scale also and has the Park 450. This has 4deg downthrust and 2 deg right.
Your thread has inspired me to find some time to progress mine a little, thanks.

This kit has been sold for quite a few years with the built in thrust angles with no reports of thrust angle issues. It is one of our most popular kits. So you shouldn't have a problem with the layout but I can't say what the effect of moving the LG will be on ground tracking.

Thanks for the word on the thrust angles. I figure moving the uc up a bit could only improve ground handling, since I fly mostly off of gravel fields. I'll let you know how it goes.

From the reports that I have had over the years, the stock configuration was very easy to handle on the ground and in the air. This model is one of our best flying.
