I swapped out the stock motor for an Exceed Optima 75M96 2700kV motor (static current draw a little under 30A) installed in the stock fan & duct.

The plane is so light, it had no problems flying at half throttle. Since it's still using the stock ESC, avoided full throttle beyond short bursts. Maidened it on the nose-heavy side using a SkyLipo 1800mAH 4S battery.

I can much more comfortably perform rolls with ailerons, though they were a bit uneven because there is unequal max deflection up vs down, resulting in unbalance rolling forces between the wings with the stick hitting the well, more barrel rolls and plain rolls - will have to redo the aileron hinges, or simply limit the servo movements to where they remain equal.

Gravity sucks.
just a quick question - what are the benefits vs drawbacks of using tabs instead of full flying horizontal sabilisers?

from what i think and i might be wrong is that as you have a whole elevator moving you would have more agility and more response if you're doing e.g high alphas, but then if you look at mike's vids he does high alpha's too with only elevator tabs,so its difficult but personally iwould go for the whole movement like in my starmax f-15,looks scale too

It also helps when you are using flaps - the air gets turbulent and the added authority of stabilators counters that.
