And a question, does goodluckbuy or other place carry the boom clamps used in this octo? A place where I can get spare parts like this one?

Thanks
Reginak, I just saw that this is the best place to get parts from;

It was in a post from a few pages ago. Looks like they have just
about everything and I wonder why Good Luck Buy does not!

Parajeff,

Two questions.

- What power distro is you using?
- What is your expected AUW? I'm asking this because I already have a skyjib (currently crashed and being rebuild) and now I want something cheaper as an AP backup, and I think my AUW will be something like 7kg (15.5lbs) and I will be using 15" like JAB.

My only worry is that the frame is not stiff enought for this kind of AUW... I think JAB was the only one what tested it with a lot of weight but it was only 4 seconds and I can't tell if it was stiff or not during this short flight..

Thanks

I will be using a Spectrum DX-18 Tx, AR8000 Rx, 8 Castle ICE50 ESC, 8 HL
48-22 490kv motors, and 2 x 3S or 4S - 40C 5000mAh packs in parallel to give
3S or 4S 10,000mAh.

My AUW should be around 10lbs with out a camera and around 15 with a Canon 7D.
I will definately refine these estimates as the Octo build is completed, weighed, and
tested. I hope that this helps.

Question for Batfire

Hey Bat,

Is it necessary to use a washer between the Hex motor attachment
screw and the CF motor mounts? As you can see in this photo, I did
not, but before I use thread lock I wanted to be safe and ask you first.

BTW thats a heck of a nice build you got going there. I picked up the quadframe Hexacopter but wont start actual construction until after mid October due to very busy and finishing th X830 project.

hey papajeff,

if i can ask, are the plates easily bendable, as in, if you grab both sides and try to flex or bend them? i just want to know the quality and stiffness of these copies. its the shine that deceives me

IHMO the CF plates and the booms do not flex at all and I have seen some very
cheap CF used on other models. Also, I believe that CF is now available in many
different finishes and they all look slightly different.

Flozano, I had planned to start with 12x4.5 props and go from there. However,
from what I have seen on the posts here, I have a feeling that because my
motors (HL Model: W48-22 490KV) are going to be extremely powerful on the
Octo using a 6S pack, I might have to test several smaller size props (11, 10,
9 inch) or go with a 4S pack. Obviously, I will know for sure when I get to the
testing stage of my build.

bad news the GoodLuckBuy have cancelled my orders ? because i op-end a dispute about the 13x6.5" Propeller For MultiCopter, they have come and all going ccw and not ccw & cw,now because i opened a dispute they have cancelled my order for the big hexa and refunded my money and stoped me from buying from GoodLuckBuy, what did they expect sending me the rung Propeller out i don't know ,so GoodLuckBuy strike again and took me for 50 ,

ho and get this in my pay pal i bought the
CW CCW APC 13x6.5" Propeller For MultiCopter

now iv contacted GoodLuckBuy and complained they have alerted there listing to say APC 13x6.5" Propeller for RC Airplane ,so beware of what you buy if you use GoodLuckBuy
