Question

At what percent throttle does your quad hover?

A simple question for the quadcopter gurus out there. At approximately what percent throttle does your quadcopter like to hover at with a fresh battery?

Since I moved from single rotor to multi I used the same standard of around half throttle for hover.

I set my all quads up at a power>weigth ratio to get around half throttle hover. I do have a few quads that will hover at 1/4 throttle due to light weight and WAY more power than needed

Roughly 50%. Which is weird since it hovers around 50% with 4S and 3S, even with batteries that weigh roughly the same. However, when you go full throttle 4S gives it a noticeable advantage.

Around 45%-50% here.....55% and up? out of sight.....soften down to 45% to descend and lessen to land. This is carrying a camera gimbal and gopro.

about 50% when its carrying two 4s 5000 packs, an AV200 and a very light camera
Around 55-58% when I load it down with a canon T2i

Its a DW AD8HLE with 8 Avroto 2814's and APC 12x3.8 slow flyers.
not a light ship when loaded up with camera gear.

without the camera gear, its a rocket ship

with the setup i have now on my quad it hovers about 40%-45%.

i had a overpowered quad and it would jump from the ground at 15% and hovered at a notch from idle.. not funny to fly though....

Need for Speed ! ! !
As soon as I arm my Hot setup quad it is almost bouncing off the ground
Think I need to prop down a little.

I guess you are using ecalc, right?
change your current set up with bigger props (make sure they fit in your frame)
usually that helps.
