IOM Build Question

I will be relocating to Singapore in the next couple of months while doing my research, found the IOM is by far the most popular boat sailing.

I have some modeling skills but to say I am advanced builder would be far from the truth.

Is is smarter for me to look for a used IOM to purchase or I have been looking at a Laerke on RCSails to build.

Looking for most cost effective option while in Singapore for 3-5 years.

Is the IOM a difficult build? Are there plans out there I can follow.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

DW,

There is a group that sails in Singapore and a few of the guys post on here, Ed, Colin and Scully are a few of the guys.

They tend to have top boats and from what I have heard have boats for sale.

Have a look back though this thread and you will find them, just send them a PM.

Of course a "used" boat would get you in the water faster, but if you like to build, there are not really any secrets. Pick a set of plans, grab a handfull of balsa and some CA. If you would rather spend the time sailing, pick up a used boat and hit the lake!
