Pete
I used my laptop at the field to run Assistant. No problems.

How dare you asking a technical question, don't you see it's a MAN/ATTI battlefield here !?!? Watch out for lost bullets !

These 2212-930kv seems like a legit replacement, but it says "Battery/Esc: 2-3s Lipo / 25A", looks like all manufacturers are afraid of 4S..
What about the iPower 2217-930 (930kv) motor sku: IBM-2217-930 instead ?
Looks more fun

I'm trying the SunnySky above with 4S and have no complaints.
I put them on the new F550, and have flown it a few times before it got to be winter & windy.
If you watch what you're doing, most motor gurus say you can run 3S rated motors on 4S.
Just watch your watts (heat)...

BTW, EPB's latest offering of this motor is not the collet type prop mount.
They have gone to the mount that bolts to the outrunner can (best, IMO)

My blog has a post about these motors with a link to Dr Kiwi's testing of them.
The quality is very good.
At least comparable to the DJI motors without the large diameter, flat sided prop shaft.

If you put the T-motors up next to the Sunnysky (X version) they are indistinguishable from each other. My guess is that they are the same, just with different bearings. T Motor use japanese EZO bearings and Sunnysky uses Japanese NMB bearings. Both are superb bearings and will run long and smooth as silk. The sunnyskys can be had for as low as $18/motor plus shipping, so it's a great deal. I hear a lot of positives about the iiPowers, but I bought a set and they were horribly balanced so it turned me off. made my whole quad shake even spun-up without props. Incidentally, I've been running my Sunnysky 2212's hard on 4S for a couple months now and they never even warm up... They have absolutely no problem on 4S.

Jut the guy I hoped would chime in , I like your style man , sorry I know it's been asked before and I did search thru your post but I'm back offshore and on a iPhone with very limited access bandwidth wise seams like everybody has priority over me in this router. Anyway I looked at the sunnysky but it had a collet and I thought that wasn't a great way to secure a prop ? I also had read about you getting some bit I couldn't find what you did with them . I have your entire blog saved in my iphone for reading when I'm out of service area . You really got a grasp on things and I have learned alot from reading your post , the only thing I didn't learn was about these motors ! Thanks man

True, they are not my favorite way to mount props on outrunners. I prefer the bolt to the can mount.
FWIW, the set presently on the F550 are the collet mount.
The SunnySky collets are very true with negligible run-out.
The cone shaped prop nuts are a little off on some mounts, but balance still seems okay.

As I said, the newest SunnySky 2212 offering is the bolt on mount plus hexnuts.
Very true and accurate, IMO.
