The best setup for this plane given its small battery area would be...

SK3 1900kv motor
120amp esc in the TT
7s 4400 65C nano
Wemo or Het fan

Trust me..I have this setup in my HK Hawk and its a bullet. 147mph on the Maiden using RCSpeedo.

V, Where do you recommend purchasing a HET or Wemo fan?

What are you getting for flight times?

Thanks,Walter

HET..http://www.highendrc.com/index_topic...15&didpath=/15

Im getting about 2:30 min at full throttle.(thats how I fly) but if you use the throttle stick(im told it goes up and down..lol) then you could probably stretch that to about 3.5-4min

Wemo..http://www.ductedfans.com/Wemotec_midi_fan.html

Yes, but from what's been said, a 90 will cause the thin ducting to implode on its self. It may not, but I was asking if anyone was going to take that gamble.

Thanks vettster, but is it safe to run the SK3 motor on 7s? It says 6s on the website. Also, have you tried experimenting with the CS 12 blade 90mm fan and this combo?

By the way, you said tt

I ran the SK3 on 8s. I wouldnt do it again. but it forsure can handle 7s.

The CS 12 needs a low kv motor. you dont have the space to fit 12cell batteries in.

Spyda, I haven't heard great things about Prodesign. But I'm a Novice in the EDF world. So I'm trying to weed through the info that's out there before I pull the trigger.

Mik, Thanks for the vid.
Those guys are nuts flys into the sun like that! I think I would have went over the light poles. Boy, They have plenty of runway!

I fly off dirt. So I would prefer retracts. And I am a little concerned making this bird to heavy. Since it sounds like it's a little on the hefty side to begin with.
We have a smooth runway but it has it's challenges. (Trees and Ball field light poles.)

I might be better off with the ViperJet. It has flaps.
