It seems that there is very little interest in this new heli. This is not surprising since the exact role that this heli plays with regards to the Genius CP and MIni CP is very open to debate. If they intended this to be a replacement for the Genius, they should name it as the Genius S instead. I find the claimed weight of 35g very difficult to believe, given the tail struts, and beefier skids.

If this heli flops, the message to Walkera would be to stop releasing dubious models and concentrate on upgrading your best ones, like what they have done for the V120D02S.

Interesting that it's not listed as a DEVO compatible RX but rather wk2801. Maybe this is just an old weird prototype that walkera's trying to get rid of? IMHO I think it looks more like a genius CP prototype than successor.

It seems it is using the V100D08 tail. Perhaps they are trying to get rid of some parts. The V100D08 is a prototype of the Genius. In one of their promotional videos, Walkera described the V100D08 as "simply genius"

I'm surprised it has the 6 axis gyro because I seem to be the only one who likes it.

any views "under the hood"? are the servos positioned like the genius or the mini cp? maybe they're throwing a bone to the 2801 holdouts while clearing out some parts. also is the main gear the old style fine tooth mod?

Maybe they finally realized they ticked off so many people making their new heli's only work with their new devo tx. (i had just bought a 2801). After that i said never again.

But this model is neither here or there. It looks like a cynical attempt to get rid of V100D08 parts. If they are serious about supporting existing 2801 users, they would release a 2801 compatible MIni CP.

Since you are Walkera's right hand man, are the skids separate or part of the frame?

Awesome! I love the bigger landing skids and the tail struts, hopefully the landing skid and frame are separate...

it's not a 100 size heli as far as I can see. Main rotor diameter is 462mm and it uses 3S 1000mAh batteries. Seems to be a smaller successor of the V370D05.

Yep, the title is misleading. That thing has the tail motor size of the mini cp main.
