Thanks guys!
Our club is lucky to have a guy that produces some really nice flying vids for us, I am ever so greatful that he put this one together for me of the Heinkels 2nd flight, nothing too exotic, just another getting to know you flight, but it is complete and in focus

Ep 39 The Peter Rake Heinkel He-51 (6 min 25 sec)

She certainly seems to fly nicely mate. I was a bit disappointed that there was no knife-edge or consecutive loops in there though.

Mate i wouldn't know i knife-edge from a dinner plate i think thats half the reason i like these older birds, that crazy stuff wasn't part of their repertoire so there is no need for me to attempt it! she handles the crosswind landings very nicely which is a huge plus for our club field!

Nice video Craig - the take-off was a little....er....unscale but the landing was perfect! Your 'roll' looked very similar to what I did with the DVII last Sunday!

Great looking model - Pat

Thanks Pat, the roll was ailerons alone, some elevator and rudder use should smooth them out, maybe pull a bit of nose weight as well? further flight testing required to perfect the takeoffs as well, all 3 landings were exactly the same which is nice!

Now that would look really strange doing knife-edge. A sort of dragonfly on speed.

Craig,
Great build and fantastic finish! Been reading the thread from the beginning the past two days and enjoyed reading your build thread. You have a gorgeous model. (Actually you have several!)

While the takeoffs on a golfcourse green-length grass can be real long and scale-like, it does not hurt when flying off normal length grass fields to be able to be airborne with minimal fuss. At least you have not overpowered it giving it bad handling.

What sized prop and what motor did you end up powering the model with?

I am glad you were able to twist Peter's arm into designing this one for you.
Peter, can I have this one in 1/2 the current size (or IPS sized) when I'm done with your Rose Parrakeet? (I can cut my own parts and resize things...)

David
