I am looking for some kits to build while it is windy and hot. I know of dave blum but already have a cessna 182 and getting a 185. Anyone know of other parkflier or smaller kits? If you have any for sale let me know. I like short kits and full kits. Need at least a short kit because I suck at cutting ribs and formers and all the nice shaped parts. Also how do you fix a bend in a fuselage(pic below).

Stevens Aero has some really nice designs in their line of laser cut kits.

The offset is caused because your fuselage ends were not the same length. I know you don't want to hear it but the only way to fix this is to split the joint at the tail. With the joint cut apart line up the fuselage over the top view of the plan and force the sides to line up over the plan. One of the sides will stick out past the other. That is very much OK. You'll trim the long one back or leave things alone depending on how it all lines up when you add the tail surfaces.

When you do all this rear joint cut and pulling to line stuff up it is highly likely that some or all of the cross braces will snap their joints. In fact you'll likely need to do it anyway. Of course this means you'll need to reglue or make up new cross pieces to get good joints.

To avoid this for next time always "erect" the sides and join them over a top view of the plan or at least over a center line. And never expect the sides to join together perfectly at the tail post. The slightest amount of difference in length or misalignment at the central cabin assembly will create a mis-match in lengths at the tail post. Simply accept it and glue the posts together so they sit right over the centerline and are vertical. If you try to slide them to line up in any manner you end up with offset sides or the whole rear section having a twist. So accept centered and vertical and resort to sandpaper or shims to correct anything that is slightly out afterwards.

Both these manufacturers make some nice kits that are fairly quick to build while still requiring some care.

I highly recommend Pat Tritle's kits, I have built his Porter, C180 which fly fantastic and I am in the middle of building his 60'' DC-6B. Pat is always happy to help and he has a large line of models. They are so light that you could easily fly one of his many 1/8 scale 50-55'' offerings on a baseball diamond.

On a budget? Then it's simple. Learn to cut out your own parts accurately and build from downloaded plans.

It's not hard. And there's a few tricks. There's been at least 2 threads just about cutting out ribs accurately and other parts from plans in the last week or so.
