I had some with some RC Lander units I had. Utter rubbish. Very badly engineered in my opinion. eFlite units may be more expensive but they are fairly bullet proof and Horizon offer very good support for them here in the UK if they go wrong. Retracts are one of those things that its not worth economising on.

As long as these continue to work fine i will use them and if they do malfunction I would prefer the rod actuated steering over the cable design, as these look and work great. Thanks for the heads up though. Now if anyone knows if eFlite or some other company has the rod actuated steering I would be very interested...

I'm done with HK planes , still use their other stuff , but no more jets from HK.

Maiden went perfect , nice roll out , good power , rotates nicely, flew around for 4 minutes came in , flaps on , gear down , gentle touchdown.... And gear tears off wing , like it was attached with paper , lol. Oh well , a little wood and should be good as new , back to the 8-10s Habu and F4 for now

Sorry to hear that. Sounds more like a manufacturer defect though.
Fiberglass cloth reinforcement and MonoKote can do wonders. I should know as many times as I've done it.

What type of surface were you landing on?

Flew this morning with the new 6S 5000mAh 40C batteries from valuehobby.com with nanotechnology. A full 5 minutes and 15 seconds, not including landing and the voltage was 22.6v at end of flight. GensAce is on the right, photo below:

They are longer than the GensAce and feel lighter. A good buy IMO at only $89 per battery. They were only comfortably warm at the end of the flight, like the GensAce 60C's. No danger of swelling IMO.

The only other good comparable deal I've found are the Turnigy's but they are not the nanotechs.

Thanks for sharing Pavcom. Awesome sound
I landed a bit hard but not enough to do any damage. Nevertheless because I failed to reinforce the wing with fiberglass cloth I ended up just like 420Flyboy. One of the landing gear punctured through the wing. I blame the manufacturer for the poor design and not Hobbyking. I have fixed the wing and it looks as good or better than new except for the red and blue striping. I'll decorate the repaired side with a Griffin emblem.
