I thought I would like to share what I did with the canopy. I used a lollipop stick and some hot glue for the front of the canopy. used a small piece of Balsa and a plastic canopy lock. I
I used thin double sided tape to stick both the pieces together.

wish they pre-installed it at the factory it would of been alot easier
I also cut out the pilot seating area since it comes too low into the battery tray. i did this so that i can install larger 8S batteries in the future. but i can install the pilots for display.

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have trying to fit the rear thrust tube and it seems that the thrust tube hole on the fuselage is too small for the supplied trust tube. has anyone faced this issue?

p.s yes i am inserting the smaller diameter side into the fuse.

here are some pics to illustrate my issue.

Found some struts that will work.

L-39 scale wheels and struts.

You just have to gently persuade the thrust tube to fit through the rear of the fuselage , little trimming maybe

AdMan,

I used these from Parkzone T-28 pilots like what Herb pointed out in his build. Cheap, lightweight and with a little paint look great. Here is the size comparison to one Ravikoth picked out, it looks a little big.

I opened the wing and strengthened the retract mount area and will add glass to reinforce the nose and bulkhead because it also looks weak. The tails are on for a visual on this great looking bird. I have the fuse to work on next. I will also move the CS12 fan forward and get the thrust line corrected.

As I mentioned before, HERB made a few nice pictures concerning the gear-modification which you can find in his build-thread.

My own modification follows his example, as I also cut open the lower monocote
to gain access to the "inner" wing. I however use a mix of plywood/CFK tape
to reinforce, as some corners are simply too tight to attach plywood and
CFK/glassfibre does the job even better.

Herbs excellent build thread and the modification you can find here:

good luck !

When mine is finished, I will post some pictures.

I'm almost finished, was just doing taxi test today and notice that when the jet is static it takes about 30% throttle to start moving, is that normal since this is the heaviest jet that i have not sure all my previous foamies will move at may be 5-10% throttle.

Also i have changed the retracts to rc-lander with braking system not sure how to hook up the brakes as the manual is not very clear

Just ordered L-59, full metal retracts, 5 Turnigy MG servos from Hobbyking. I guess I will be using the 8S system I have.

420FB,
Nice find on those Struts. I have also ordered a set, although I really am only after the nosewheel strut. I just didn't like using the 2-wheel T-45 setup that my Lander kit has.

Force10....I have the same retracts with brakes. I have a pretty good idea about how they are supposed to be set up but not to that point yet. I will post pictures when I do get to that stage. I had to do a little trimming to the mounting plate to get these retracts to fit in place. Nothing major, just minor trim here and there. I am considering adding in some new cut out walls and making the wheel opening a bit smaller. They just look way to large with these retracts in place.
