I've launched off a note to one of the board members...we'll see.

Indeed. And you have to be within the field's boundary...But there are lots to do despite those constraints...Club uses AMA rules. I think there is a requirement to show proficiency to one of the board members before you "solo". Not really a big deal. You can fly there as a guest, so long as you have an AMA card. They're pretty supportive.

I am going to check out a place on Elfin Forest today - that might be a good idea. Not a lot of houses there and all open space + good winds there for take-off landing. Only issue is a suitable landing zone.

I'm fine with DSP. Lots of room to park and to set up our stuff.

Yeah DSP is probably the best option, however we should move it to middle of August since I know a few people are off to vacation and they would like to participate.

Also it gives some time to organize a few more people and do a big announcement.

August 18th, 2012 @ DSP .. I have a few surprises planned for this event :-)

I take it SEFSD is a no go? I've been tempted to try Lake Otay. Probably to far for the North County folks.

Still working SEFSD. I'm up for Otay Lake next weekend. I'm on the road on the 18th.

Alright .. I contacted Camp Pendleton and see if they can give us the "Red Beach" airstrip for one day .. I know they just had a Red-Bull event or something like that at this location. So maybe they can do something for us. It's easy to access and there is a lot of parking available. The campers are out there, too..

Let's see if they can help us.

Pick a day and I can meet you out there. I've been flying the skywalker out there getting used to the pattern. I just haven't FPV'ed it yet out there yet. I was going to fly at Otay but forgot my head tracker.
