I use Angle Position as well.
I tried endpoints and it does not help !

I would like to know if I can use angle velocity to tilt the camera 90 degrees down or not ?
With angle position I can get 80 degrees but not more, even if I set over 90 degrees in receiver setting it does not move more than 80 degrees and with angle velocity the maximum is 45 degrees !

Update :
I managed to get 90 degrees with angle position but I would like to know if it is possible or not to be done with angle velocity as with angle velociti the servo goes only 45 degrees!

To tell you the truth, I don't actually know what angle velocity does. I understand angle position and it works for me to get 90 degrees (plus another 30 degrees for tilt) and I can control the speed of the tilt, so I'm happy. Here are two videos I took recently using the HF gimbal controller with a Askman AG550 v2 gimbal and a Sony NEX 5N on my DJI F550:

DJI F550 and Askman AG550 over the Golden Gate Park Windmills (4 min 57 sec)

DJI F550 with Askman AG550 V2 gimbal including Quadcopter midair crash (5 min 7 sec)

Very nice videos
You probably use your angle position on the slider so you do not see the difference between position and velocity as when you use it on the second radio on the stick once you release the stick the tilt goes to the start position and does not stay where you leave like it is the case with velocity !

To the guys at Hoverfly...would it be possible to let pan and pitch have their own smoothing factor setting? My pan was perfect at 25 but pitch needs to be at like 5-10...any chance at doing this? I am still trying to figure out why it doesnt like to stay level and will also change level while yawing...the board is not close to my camera but it is somewhat close to an esc wire. I may reroute them and see how it goes.

Awesome stuff, Twister!

Was that lake naci in the wakeboarding shots? Assuming so since you seem to be based out of SLO.

Mind sharing what camera you are using and what post stab software (if any)?

Really professional looking IMO

Can't keep horizontality

Hi,

I am a new user of the Hoverfly Gimbal onto my S800.

I made a first setup with version 1.6 and now upgrade with the 1.7a (beta) and get the same problem :

during flight, I loose the horizon, roll goes always to the left (left site goes down and right goes up).

If I rotate with rudder, for some time, horizon become good but don't stay.

Where is the problem, what can I do??

Pan is not enabled, Roll is enabled but transmitter control none and pitch enabled with angle.
Clearly, horizontality react when I give rudder ......

Almost everyone that is using the HF board has reverted back to firmware 1.03 as that seems to be the last firmware where the horizon tilt during Yaw wasn't that bad (but still present). But it's much more manageable in that older firmware. Also, it really helps to mount the HF board behind the camera, further back the better. Doing these things and getting the correct gains and accel will help you get some really good footage.
