I too find that v1.03 works better than v1.6, in terms of the yaw coupling EMI problem. What we do now is mount the HFG board about 6" away from the camera body, and that, along with using v1.03, seems to work with the cameras I have on hand, which is a PJ710V, a NEX-5N with a 24mm lens and a Sony RX100. Surprisingly, the NEX-5N has less on an issue with this than the RX100. As expected, however, the PJ710V is the worst. The HFG board can be within 4" and the NEX-5N will not cause a problem. The RX100 needs to be at least 5" away and the PJ710V a full 6".
I also agree that for a "pro-type" system, with big boy pricing, it ought to work better in the environment it was designed for, and it should come with a much more complete owner's manual. Like everyone else here, we've had to figure out by trial and effort just what the settings do, and how to use them. -- Gary |

Using 1.06, happy with everything except for the yaw coupling problems and the fact that sometimes the horizon will stay level and perfect and other times it gets stuck crooked and almost like it forgets where level is...

Sorry, I posted that, then after watching your video a second time, I saw the credits at the end, and saw my answers. Was changing my post while you were already responding. Do you have one monitor that you both watch or does just the cameraman watch the monitor and you just fly LOS? -- JOHN

For anyone using CS6 Premiere Pro and Photoshop I have finally learned (out of sheer desperation) how to correct the horizon in post: You can edit the crooked clip in Photoshop via the 'lens correction' filter. Here is what I do: From Premiere choose to "reveal clip in Bridge". Then from Bridge choose to "Open with Photoshop". From PS Filter drop down choose to "Convert for smart filters". Then from PS Filters (again) choose "lens correction". Once there click the tab for "Custom". There is that little 360 degree (round) controller called "angle" at the bottom of the lens distortion window under this Custom tab. You just rotate this until your horizon is corrected, then render the video and save it. It works great. It is a pain in the a** to have to do this and not one we signed on for but if you have the talents that this guy has your video may deserve this final touch. You can also use this method to apply ANY of photoshop's corrections or effects to your clip! Imagine the possibilities. Again, GREAT WORK! |

May I ask for help here !
I cannot move my gimbal 90 degrees down ( to be vertical down ). In angle position it goes around 80 degrees but not exactly and in angle velocity only 45 degrees. What should I do to achieve 90 degrees down with angle velocity ? my mount is av 130 |
