I didn't get this line from nitro only because they were sold out at the time. Nitro actually has good pricing for this line.

See my cheat sheet on this line here:

I will be getting one of these fore sure. Maybe two. I have a hk tek sumo which is the exact same plane, minus graphics. I was set up to buy a ritewing tl 50 but once again I got screwed out of one by klique. It must not be in my cards to own a ritewing so i will stick with the much less expensive popwing and tek sumo. I cant wait to add another wing to the fleet

I would like to order one of these right now, but I"m totally confused about what motor to get with it. Could somebody please point me towards a motor that would be good on this plane? (Best would be if NitroPlanes sells it.)

What should I be looking for? Watts? Kv? Or something else?

PS, I should probably add that I just "chatted" with NitroPlanes technical service. They told me that they don't sell a motor that will work with this plane. I find that kind of hard to believe. (I'd settle for any reasonably priced motor that works.)

Here are motors that will work. The suggested battery/motor setup is small but will be a light weight build.
I run this one and a 40 amp esc with a 6x4 prop and anywhere form 1800-2200 3s or even 2-2200 3s

You could go bigger

I would even say this big

or go small

How about this? Would it be good? (For somebody that doesn't want a supercharged wing.)

This one might be good too:

Both are acceptable size wise but the second one will not work unless there is some sort of prop adapter and mounting kit

Ok, so I'm going to go with that second motor. It weighs 49g. All I need now is some advice on what battery will balance it out well. Does anybody have any ideas?

My setup will look like this:

Motor: KD A22-10S Brushless Outrunner Motor (49g)
Battery: ???
Servos: HXT900 9g / 1.6kg / .12sec Micro Servo (2)
ESC: 20amp

Thanks!

I'm running a Suppo 2212/10 (1400kv) that weighs 47g, plus prop saver and 7x5e or 7x6e APC props. A 2200mah 3S balaces great. To get a 2200 to fit, you will need to carve out a little bit of foam. I also reinforced the nose with carbon fiber rods as its prone to break off.

Be sure to scan over the other Pop Wing and Teksumo threads as well.

The hxt 900 will work but you might have to score the foam between the elevons and plane to make them move easier. I actually cut mine off and put hinges in them. Most 9 gram servos are too weak for this plane. I was running the hxt900 for awhile and just put these in.

Your setup will probably require a 3s 1300mah battery to balance it. The battery bay will not be big enough unless you run some super small motor.

So you picked this motor? How are you going to mount it?

I noticed that other people were running 2200mAh batteries with motors that weigh about the same as mine, or even slightly less... that's what I WAS going to get. Now I'm rethinking that idea. This is so confusing for me. Everybody seems to run different stuff, and there's so much conflicting information.

The difference in weight, between the two batteries is significant:

123g for this 1300mAh battery:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=9493

207g for this 2200mAh battery:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Lipo_Pack.html

With regard to the motor, the reviews say it comes with a motor mount.

I think I'll get the beefier servos. This plane is going to take a beating, seeing as it's going to be a "learning platform" for me.

Yeah, You might need up to a 1800 to balance it out. Just remember that the cog is the rear carbon fiber spar. The one between motor mount and the esc receiver box. Go a little nose heavy from there and you should be fine
