where do I string the antenna wire on the LT 711

Just bought the LT 711. after I remove the canopy I found the antenna coiled up on the battery in the nose of the heli, is this right? my other one ( 9053) the antenna shoots out to the tail, or was this done for shipping reasons ??

That's were mine was also. I tried letting it hang out the bottom of the canopy thinking it would increase my reception. Unfortunately it seemed to have the opposite effect, and started to have intermittent connectivity issues <40 ft. I put it back into a coil were it was before I messed with it, and the issue went away... YMMV.

As far as I can tell from some pictures this is a 2.4GHz heli.

That "coil" you see probably isn't very long. Most likely it is really shaped with just a couple of bends in order to function as a hillbilly "diversity" antennta, to avoid being too directional. Straighten it out and you have a detuned whip antenna instead.

The length from bend to bend should probably be a hair over 3cm so that each straight run can function as a 1/4-wave monopole at 2.4GHz.
