motor starts spinning at half throttle

I have a 600kv 1500w motor installed with a 80amp turnigy plush esc and a 14.8v 4000mah lipo. Hooked everything up and the motor will not spin until about half throttle. What is wrong here? ESc programming? radio? I have a DX-7. The trim is set in the middle.

Thanks.

Is it a car/boat esc or an airplane or Heli esc?

The ESC probably just need to learn the throttle range; take the prop off, if it has one, and power the transmitter at full throttle, then plug in the ESC. It should beep; when it does, move the throttle to minimum, and the ESC should beep its arming pattern.

Yes it sounds like it needs the throttle range setting set.
manual under files in case you did not get instructions??

Page 3
“VERY IMPORTANT !” Because different transmitter has different throttle range, we strongly suggest you using the “Throttle Range Setting Function” to calibrate throttle range. Please read the instruction on page 4------“Throttle Range Setting”.

page 4
Throttle range setting: (Throttle range should be reset whenever a new transmitter is being used)
Switch on transmitter, move throttle stick to top Connect battery pack to ESC,and wait for about 2 seconds
“Beep-Beep-” tone should be emitted, means throttle range highest point has been correctly confirmed

Move throttle stick to the bottom, several “beep-” tones should be emitted, presenting the number of battery cells. A long “Beep-” tone should be emitted, means throttle range lowest point has been correctly confirmed.

The throttle range question sure comes up alot, Maybe we can get a sticky on this, Are they not including instructions anymore?

Set the trim on full off (down).
That's your problem.
