Well, Glo
What you have said to Rita is a very kind and subtle way of saying what I (and others) are also saying - Garbage (and I'm being kind!)

No.. it's still neatly in the box by the dresser. I'm a little, chicken. For me, it has to be the right day, right temperature and right everything before I fell "brave" enuff to try my hand at it. Guess ill let y'all know ..

I have one now.... It is pretty nice...

But..... The weather here has been beyond horrible.

I won't fly mine until the snow is gone and the ground drys out.

Getting the silk wet is probably a bad idea.

I think it is going to be a good flyer.

I found a bunch of video's on the china YouTube and it looks good.

Not for the beginner as it will not survive many if any crashes.

The one I got looks identical to the pictures on SD Hobby.

It's going to have to be a very calm day for my maiden flight.

I will report the results here.

This is just speculation but the problem may be that this bird needs to be flown like a kite and not a plane with a real airfoil. It is going to tip stall if you turn it while its going too slow. And it won't recover if it is low.

The Chinese guys do well because they know how to fly it with only gentle turns...

I have one of these Hawks. They fly really well but will bite you if you stall. If you can fly this you should do well with the bird...

Hi Tom.. It looks like that motor setup will be a good fit in the Brownhawk... I did get my Hawk up breifly a couple of times, But the flights were short. Wind was to strong..But I know it will fly.I have also been building another motorized kite similer to the RC Eagle . Not as pretty but is only cost me about $12 for the kite and I had all the gear for it. I just finished it today But have not flown it yet..To cold and snowy out today .I hope you get your RC Eagle up soon. Look forward to hearing about it. Regards Harold

Looks good.
Yes the vector thrust works well on these kites.

I have the 10' premier eagle kite and I love flying it.

I saw some other videos that look like you already flew the vector version. Kind Of confused... The Kite with the nose mounted motor was a bit unstable..

Well if you decide to order the Chinese Eagle I'm sure you will have no problem flying it.
I started fitting the new power pack on the Brainstorm Macaw...... piece of cake..

It got to 60 today but the ground is still frozen with snow..

Couple more months of this stuff and the flying season will be here.. Who Rah!!

Here are some pics of my motorized kites..The First one is the Flat Eagle Kite converted to RC. I got the idea from the previous video, very easy to do. All up weight with 3 cell 800mah lipo is 14 ozs. I have noy yet had a chance to fly it.

Second is the WindWings Brown Hawk,,All up weight with battery is 25 ozs.I have had 2 very short flights just to test it, But the wind was to strong..But it does fly.I was very happy with it. Thanks to Tom for putting me on to this one.

Third pic is the weather outside my front door this morning. Snow on the ground and wind chill temp is -20. it Looks like very cold weather all week. Guess I wont be flying anytime soon.
