3 week old ParkZone Radian RTF only flown once
Hi!
I have an almost new Radian. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and flew it for about 25 minutes on one battery charge and didnt even tap out the battery. It is RTF and is being stored in the original box. When I took it out of the box, I got the rudder caught and pulled it off of the fuselage. I used CA strips and put it back on like new. I flew it and it works fine. I found that it is just not what I expected. I am not into the sailplane and prefer my "regular" planes. . Anyway, I would like to trade it for a cool plane or cash. Please Make me a reasonable offer. Thank you. Charles http://secure.hobbyzone.com/PKZ4700.html Equipped with 3-channel control and Spektrum 2.4GHz radio technology, the Radian can be flown without the worry or risk of interference. Although a powerful 480 brushless motor enables initial launch, the propeller soon folds back to reduce drag, freeing the plane to utilize thermals of air to remain aloft, instead of batteries. That means flight times for this quiet and eco-friendly alternative are much longer than they are with traditional electric aircraft, making a relaxing day in the great outdoors even better. Like all of ParkZone’s innovative and high-quality aircraft, the Radian looks great right out of the box and provides pilots with the control and reliability they seek in a park flyer. The plane’s large 2-meter wingspan and elliptical dihedral design improve flight performance and visibility from the ground, while plug-in wings provide for easy transportation and storage. Not only does the Radian’s lightweight Z-Foam™ construction offer the perfect balance of weight and durability, it also makes repairs simple and quick. Since everything needed to get the Radian airborne is included inside, you are only minutes away from the ultimate soaring adventure. Features • Spektrum™ DX5e 5-channel full range 2.4GHz DSM2™/DSMX radio system eliminates interference and the need for frequency control • Ready-to-fly right from the box – everything you need is included inside, even the batteries • Large 2-meter wingspan makes the Radian easy to see and provides an excellent lift-to-drag ratio • Plug-in wings separate for easy transportation and storage • 11.1V, 1300mAh Li-Po battery for extended flight times • Variable rate DC cell-balancing Li-Po charger safely charges and conditions Li-Po battery • Powerful 480-size, 960Kv outrunner brushless motor for efficient power • Throttle, rudder and elevator provide true 3-channel flight and maneuverability • E-flite® Pro 30A Brushless ESC with Switch-Mode BEC for maximum performance • Durable, lightweight and repairable Z-Foam™ construction • Plug-N-Play® version also available (PKZ4775) Specifications Type: Airplanes Wingspan: 78.7 in (2 m) Overall Length: 44.7 in (1137mm) Flying Weight: 30 oz (830 g) Motor Size: 480 brushless outrunner, 960Kv Radio: Spektrum 2.4GHz DX5e with AR600 full range receiver (included)(Originally included the AR500) Servos: Sub-micro 3-wire Charger: 12V DC 2- to 3-cell Li-Po balancing Speed Control: E-flite 30A Pro Brushless ESC with Switch-Mode BEC (EFLA1030) (included) Recommended Battery: 11.1V 1300mAh Li-Po (PKZ1033) (included) Approximate Flying Duration: Flight times in excess of 30 minutes when using the included ParkZone 1300mAh Li-Po battery and limited motor run |

If you had managed to put it in a thermal, I doubt if you would be selling it now.

I don't know. It is my first sailplane and it was not really fun or me. I bought it thinking I would use it to have fun with taking video/pix. It just didn't do it for me. There a lot of flyers out there that are really into the glider/sailplane but I didn't feel the bug.

The bug don't bit until you made a 5 minute flight that you gained altitude after the motor run! ;<)
After that you want a ten minute flight then a 20 minute then . . . . . My best is 2:17:31, been close to it a bazillion times since but . . . I keep trying! Then you get a better plane and start going to contests. That pretty much completes the addiction. Joe |

Too bad I don't live closer to you, I could teach you how to fly her correctly. I taught an old buddy of mine how to fly his and he gave up flying his RC Cessna 182 Skylane plane, he loved the Radian so much. Speaking of which, I'm selling my Cessna 182 Skylane, if you're interested?

I have a Radian Pro as well. I like the standard better. Nothing quite like flying for 30 minutes and landing with 60% battery remaining... If you were on this coast I'd take it off your hands. Good luck with the sale! |
