Pic's the of new Maxi Swift 600 LED's !

The new Maxi Swift, 56" wing, is all most complete for night flying!

Took about 10 hours of wiring, soldering, and about 400 LED's ( 10 packs of 60)
from HK !

I have white strips all the way around the nose, in bedded in the foam, so the whole nose glows white

On top is green strips in the shape of the V

On the wing tips is Orange, and also I have strips of Ornage LED's pointed at the blades from the motor, so the blades should show Orange while spinning!

On the bottom is strips of blue LED"s for easy seperation between top & bottom

I used 2 strips of white, 4 strips of green, 2 strips of orange, and 4 strips of blue

I'm also using a HK Turnigey ON/Off Switch which goes into the gear channel to turn them on & off with the flip of a switch!

Let me know what you think! I should be ready in the next day or two, for it's madien flight!

Flying low is expensive.

Hey, I'll give this a thumbs up! Ms.Pdiddyg40 and I are looking to start a 4-5 foot flying wing scratch build and equip it with ~6meters of LEDs from hobbypartz. Do you have any idea of the current draw of your lights? Your design is neat, it should be easy to differentiate in the dark. I've seen the rear facing-prop illuminating lights before and was planning on using them in our build as well. Should look pretty neat. Neat build!

Thanks ! I apprecaite it, and good luck with your build!

LED's draw around 2 amps, not much!

Wow, that's impressive! I expected the draw to be over 4 amps...

Are you powering from a separate battery or off the balance tap of your lipo?

Each strip is 400mA, 1000mA = 1 amp, or every 2-1/2 strips

I have 400 LED's, about 7 strips, but I also have left over from each strip, so I'm figuring around 2+ amps , your correct, I edited the original post from 600, cause I know I didn't use 10 strips , each strip is 60 LED's

I'm running 2 lipos 3S-2200mah in Parallel , to give me 4,400mah on 3S

I did fry my motor, so maybe full throttle running it, with the LED draw caused it to over heat

Well the current draw from the LEDs should have nothing to do with extra strain on the motor. So I'm thinking that it was just too much prop or too much throttle

probabley to much throttle. It was under powered. I'm still seaching for a motor for it

Planes weights 1390 grams with the lipos, or 3.06 lbs
