RCF 39" Yak-55 or Telink 43" Yak-55
I'm not ready for either (I just moved up to the Edge 540 and finally am able to practice some of the moves I've been scared with my other planes) but I wanted to get a better understanding of both so that when I am ready I can pull the plug.
What's the big difference fly characteristic-wise between the two? Does one fly better than the other? One better suited for "beginners" learning 3D? One easier to build than the other? Sorry if this has been discussed. I searched the forums first but didn't see anything, unless I missed it. |

The RCF plane will fly a lot lighter than the Telink. If you want low and slow 3D, the RCF plane is the way to go. The Telink plane is heavier and will handle better with windy conditions. Both are about the same difficulty to build. For a beginner learning 3D, I'd go with the RCF plane over the Telink.

of the two, I only have the rcf yak 55. Awesome plane very light and survives crashes well. got over 800 flights and more than 50 broken props under its belt.

I have owned the RCF Yak and I have the Telink Yak still. They are both great models and personally, I would have said there's not much in the flying speed, you can get the Telink Yak to fly very slowly as well and once you are used to it, it will fly in small spaces.
The difference for me that counts is that the Telink will fly in windier conditions (I am in the UK) and it has larger wheels, so it will land and take off from mown grass. Mike |

Thanks. Good point, but I guess I have the Edge for smaller flying space. I do wish to move up in size eventually and fly at our local club field. |

At our local AMA field where they fly a lot of nitro and gas planes up to 35% planes, we found the Telink planes to be fit in nice. Some have the 47 inch size 3DHS, Extreme Flight, or PA planes. The 44 inch Telink is about that size just lighter. It takes more abuse though which many like. I have the 47 inch 3DHS Edge (the old one with CF LG). It is a great plane, but I would really like a Telink Extra Slick. I have the 32" Extra Slick and the Flash.
