So did you have one guy flying the quad and another with a head tracker for the camera gimbal or did you use one of the auto tracking setups with a device in the plane? Whatever it was worked great. Next time put the smoke out on the wing LE so we can watch for transition and separation ;o)

Nope, all done with two pilots and all flying skill. No gimbal or special camera work

Just to be clear, it's filmed with a race (or freestyle) quad, which are so ridiculously overpowered
that the main challenge is not overtaking the plane at all times. Can literally fly circles or loops
around many fixed wing aircraft while keeping the nose pointed at the aircraft.

At the start there, he did just run into my little Nano Goblin and take a few chunks out of it.

It is DSable, but generally if the wind is from the West and strong enough to go fast, it's throwing turbulence
off the much larger mountains to the west onto this relatively low ridge, making it not flyable. It can be fun
with a foamy like the Bee in 10-15mph winds from the east. It's just a small
segment of something called the Dakota Hogback which runs all the way from southern Wyoming through
Colorado and down into New Mexico. Here's some old videos (right click, save as, play in MPC-HC)

DSing on a different part of the same formation, a few miles away, couple hundred feet higher, and a little bit further
from the mountains. It's vertical at the top and rocky throughout on one side, and still very steep on the other
usually with equal mix of trees/bushes/rocks which makes landing crunchies pretty tough.
There's a flat spot 150 yards or so from where we were DSing in the video above, but walking to
it while flying is a serious adventure. Hiking up to the flying spot is it's own challenge.
