Is low voltage cutoff supported

Hi,
Managed to change 2 Turnigy F-20A's to brushed, anyone know if it's possible to set or use a low voltage cut-off for lipo batteries?
Thanks

Can you share your changes to make the F20 work?

Thanks Christian

Programming ESC to Brushed

Hi,
I removed a small part of the black rubber backing on the ESC and it exposed 6 programming pins on the circuit board near the red wire.
In order from bottom to top, they are: MOSI/MISO/SCK/GND/VCC/RESET.
The firmware came from: https://launchpad.net/brushed
I used a USB AVR programmer and it flashed the hex file in a few seconds.
After that, connected it up and it's working great
Best Regards,
Paul

Nice programing, wonder what it can be use for...

What if using the 2 in 1 esc software together with a kk2 to make a Segway?
Should be possible.

Hardware maybe wiper motors from the scrapyard?

Unfortunately I must relay on you programing geniuses. ;-)

Could you please show diagram of how to wire the motor connections to this ESC, I am assuming battery connection will stay the same? Just got a flushing tool rom Hobby King, will try it out as soon as I know the motor connections, hate to fry it.

Thanks

I just flashed my F-30 with this just curious how does the wiring work ? Do i just connect to the motor from the brushless motor leads ?

Edit: Found out that i was using the wrong hex now im using the right one and got it working.

More information

Love this hack, thank you very much for making the information available.

I would like to use this on a couple of wheelchair motors but I am struggling with the documentation provided. I have checked out the other brushless ESC conversion project in this thread to see if I can work out how to connect the ESC to the motor. Is someone able to take a photograph of how they have done it please? I notice on the other project, they are connecting to two of the poles but it seems this project solders the wires directly to the FETs.

This is to lift this tread.
I still hope someone could be the first and show us how to make a segway using this and the KK2 control board.

I'm curious as well. I just flashed a Atmel based Hobbywing Pentium-6A without issue, but I'm not sure what's next.

Is it safe to use two of the original three motor leads, determining which leads to use by trial and error?

I have flashed this ESC http://rctimer.com/index.php?gOo=goo...7&productname=

It seems to work on the 2 of the 3 BL outputs so I guess I don't need to solder between the mosfets.

I have one issue, the motor goes to full when the throttle is at approx 50% instead of 100... how do I calibrate the range?

Hi all,

have just found this hack and am planning to use it on some RC timer 20a ESCs for a fighting robot. I was just wondering if the flashed ESCs failsafe or anything weird if the RC input signal goes over the 100% value? problems have occurred with other reflashed ESCs when using Spektrum DX6i with elevon mixing and additional mixing to get 100% throws.

Cheers

Dan

hey,

I flashed a RC timer 20a ESC but it never seemed to work correctly. is there any set-up work that needs to take place once its been flashed with the software? I was using the brushedV3 hex file. Any help would be greatly appreciated as its for a fighting robot and would not only be for me, but the UK fighting robot community as a whole.

Cheers!

you should use firmware here : https://launchpad.net/brushed

Buy esc Tunigy30a or 85a.

Hey
That code won't work as the ESCs failsafe if the signal goes over 100%. We use the spektrum rc gear which has some funny mixing properties but we've managed to amend the code for the tz85a ESCs to compensate for this.

Cheers

Dan
