Gravity is a cruel mistress...

I agree, they need to strike while the iron is hot and reap the benefits of DJI's mistakes. If they do it right they can come out really strong.

Also, why switch phones? The iPhone version seems to work fine (nothing to control yet, but the app is stable and all the features are there including google maps integration)

Hmmm, I guess I wasn't paying attention while I was out trying to make my WKM behave in the wind, where did you download the app from? I want to get familiar with it on my Android phone before the X6 arrives...

Considering the only way of running their software on iDevice would be breaking the law, yeah, you should switch to a less restrictive platform.

According to their website, yes!

Ahh I hadn't considered jailbreaking law in other countries. His decision makes sense in that case.

As this has been one of the BIG concerns shown by people who are interested, from my region. A lot of them have been bitten by the problems with DJI and do not want to repeat the exercise.

Thanks

Go ahead rob, no problemo

No untethered jailbreak yet for iPhone or iPad iOS 5.1...
They should apply for an oficial app licence, why not?

Software on Steve-hardware isn't allowed to become a wifi hotspot, etc.
Plus chances of some Chinese company getting approved for it are very slim.

Jailbreaking or rooting a phone is not against the law in the USA... it can just be a pita some times. http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/201...-jailbreaking/. I guess in other countries it may be different though.

EzOSD uses the audio in/out on the iphone or ipad to input telemetry data for ios devices.
