J-3 Cub 60

I just finished building a Great Planes Piper J-3 Cub 60. I put an OS .91 FS in it. havent flown it yet im alittle nervous. anyone have any flying tips. Ill post a picture later

Although I have not flown the GP cub, I had a Sig 1/4 scale clipped cub with a Saito 1.20 for years. It was likely my all time favorite airplane.

Cubs are simply wonderful flying airplanes. They are stable yet responsive.

They do tend to have a bit of adverse yaw (on aileron) so cooridinated turns are really better. If you have a computer radio and separate aileron servos you can simply program less "down" deflection on the aileron and that helps considerably.

Here is the funnest thing to do with them. On approach since they dont have flaps the full scale solution was to "crab" into the runway exposing the side of the fuse on approach. It is simply done by using aileron and opposite rudder to "crab" or fly sideways on approach! It really works - when you get comfortable with it give it a try!
