Making of my Scratch-Build Cessna 182 Skylane (Ribbed Depron + Balsa) (47 pictures)

Hi all. I have been working on this model for a month and wanted to share some pictures taken at some stages of her making.

Actually i customized some parts of the well known plan which was designed by Dave Blum (Thanks Dave ). I used 6mm and 3mm depron and balsa as main materials.

Parts list :

Turnigy park park 450 1050KV electric motor with 8x5 JXF Propellers approx. 700g of thrust.
Hobbyking SS Series 25-30A ESC
Rhino 1050mAh 3S1P 30C Lipoly Pack
4 x 9g 1.4Kg servos

And here are the pictures for my build. Hopefully i will take her to maiden flight this weekend. I ll try to record a video for it.

Thanks to everyone sharing his/her good wishes and opinions.

I hope you enjoyed it!

Actually i want to know if she will fly or not Hopefully i ll be taking her to a maiden flight this weekend. I live in a crowded city. It is not easy to find a proper place to fly my planes. I used to build some basic, small depron models and our car park was ok for them. But with this one i have to find somewhere better.

Super Job................
That depron is great stuff!.............I have used it with balsa, and I find it easy to work with and the results look good IMHO!!!

for window, we just need to find a bottle with the edge that fit the plane? i have been seeing people using soda bottle for canopy. i guess it is the same principle.

I used a flat surface of the bottle. First i used a sheet of paper to create a template for window cover then cut the same shape on pvc. When giving some curves to it you should be gentle not to get some white colors on pvc. You can apply some heat using hair dryer to make it more flexible.
