Astronaut Neil Armstrong's 1967 corvette

Not much respect given to this piece of history, still an interesting find.
However, I doubt this guy will get $250,090.00 for it.

I had a 70 BB roadster too. I once read the 68 - 70 were the most expensive to maintain. I was stupid and sold it cheap.

I wasn't at the glider port that day, but Neil Armstrong showed up several years ago to take a glider ride. He was a soaring pilot way back in the 60's I think and may have owned a Schweizer sailplane also. If he did that plane is probably worth quite a bit also.

I had a '67 Vette (Rdster) of my own for several years in the mid-seventies, and I can attest that it was one of the most fun cars I ever owned.
Wish I would have kept it, and knowing what they bring nowadays, I wish ever more that I would have kept it.

That series (63-67) is still my favorite body style and my heart still thumps when I see on on the street.

Was it your bid? I love the buttons that automatically increment the bid with a single click.

Don't worry it is a reserve auction and the reserve is not met.... hope he doesn't waive the reserve!

Na, I wish I had that kind of money to bid on old Vettes! When I first saw the listing I thought that figure was his starting bid.

I could see a day when that car fully restored could bring half a million if it really was Armstrong's.

Back in those days, it was common for astronauts to often make a Corvette one of their cars, so if this one in the OP is interesting, it will be interesting to see how many more pop up for sale as time goes on.

I knew a family member of one of the other astornauts who also bought a '67 Corvette, and some of the early stories he had to tell were pretty fascinating.
