Getting around while at Joe Nall?

Hey everyone!

This is going to be my first Joe Nall, and I'm wondering about getting around while I'm there. I'll be bringing an RV, and am not sure if I show tow a car with me, or a RZR ATV (side by side).

Which would be better for moving between the flight lines? Do others run the field in cars, or is everyone on golf carts? Are ATV's even allowed?

The atv will be easier to get around with.

Thanks for the quick answers! I'll plan on taking the ATV then.

What about EZ-Up awnings? Are you allowed to have them on the flight line? Or only at the campsite?

Sorry for the newbie questions - I've never been to a fly-in this large before!

I was just there over the weekend. I took my daughters Suzuki LT80 ATV to get around to the various areas. You can ride right up to the electric flightline and the float plane area, but you cannot ride right up to the main and 3D flightlines as they are pretty congested and have roping up with signs saying "No Golf Carts." There was alot of open area at the electric flightline and you can raise pop-up canopies just feet from the flight stations if you want in that area. I highly suggest taking either an ATV (did see a few RZRs there,) pit-bike or smaller displacement dirt-bike or dual sport (250cc or less.) I did see someone riding around on a Ural motorcycle with a sidecar as well as an old Norton. If you don't have anything to bring they do rent golf carts (2 or 4 person) and they run shuttle buses too. We saw a lot of folks on mountain bikes also. Have fun everybody!

If you get a chance, watch young Daniel Holman put on a demo for Extreme Flight....amazing flyer! Have fun everybody!

Thanks for all the information, everyone! The RV is packed, and we're ready to roll out tomorrow morning. I decided to leave the RZR here, and bring a 250cc dual-sport motorcycle on a hitch hauler. Just seemed easier to fool with, and since this is my first Joe Nall I thought I'd keep things simple and see how things work this time around.

I hope to camp close to the electric flight line since I'm bringing a few electrics to fly. As for the other flightlines, I'll just be a spectator so the bike should work fine.

Hope to meet some of you there!

For me, small and mobile in all situations is paramount. I need to squeeze in places where most fear to travel

"small, mobile" since I hit the big 40 seems like the only thing I can squeeze into is a booth at the restaurant. That poor tent we're bringing is gonna be like stuffed burrito...
