Its at least a decade off before this becomes affordable in the average household but its in the post !

Imagine with a 3D printer no more Shipping/Handing fees you will just pay royalties for the download and just print your own.

Have you listened to the Chris Anderson interview on The Amp Hour?

It's probably their best interview yet and well worth a listen for anyone interested in 3d printing and RC. Chris Anderson is the co-Founder of DIY drones (among many other things).

I went to the amp hour site and bookmarked it. I did not see a specific article by Anderson on 3D printing. Could you give me some guidance.
By the way, I have read his book "Makers: The New Industrial Revolution" and I believe he is spot on with his predictions of how things are going to be in the near future.

They have made it a little tricky to find! Definitely worth a listen...

Good work Jimbo, & nice flight. Wanting to get mine out, but,
if it`s today, it will slicing thru snowflakes. Going for it tho, as
long as it`s fairly calm. Cabin fever, big time.

Thanks Skye. I don't think the homemade mount is as good as the correct mount. There appears to be a bit more vibration. Perhaps the fibreboard was too thin. Flew OK though.

Another great video jimbo.

Is the mount you replaced the one for the motor itself or the one on the plane?

I remembered to to bring my bind plug to work so I could bind it to the 8. Got a few flights in, going have to retire this airframe soon. Getting like a wet noddle!

Thanks Kam, I really enjoyed that flight.
Yes it's the motor mount. The plane one is ok. The hyperions have a separate mount. Not good. I'll prolly try one of the HK motors next, if it blows up as it goes well on the yak.

Yeah I never did like the motors with a seperate mount. To many parts and something is bound to break. The one you have on the yak would be interesting on the pitts.

Had a few pre-Superbowl adult beverages, & decided to brave the
elements. Breeze was at My back, for the most part, & I really
don`t like that. 21 degrees & snowing. Blew off part of My landing
gear when I stuffed it face-first. (I found it). Motor would not run
when I got it back inside. I put it in front of a space heater. It`s
fine now. Landing gear is fixed. Key-cam cut Me short. Prolly
the last vid till I get a new one. Snowing like heck rite now, &
not `sposed to stop till midnight. (3:50 PM now) Oh well,,,,,

Knowing what I know now, I would first view the video, but only for general education/orientation NOT FOR SPECIFIC STEPS, then I would follow the written method as I actually stepped through my own build.

If you do what I did and combine the two methods while working on the plane, then it could lead to trouble, so just pick one way or the other (vid or written manual).

Swamp. I agree with what Track said, but I used this vid to build Mine.
Crack Pitts Step By Step Build Video (28 min 46 sec)

The only place I almost messed-up was on the servo horn extenders
for the tail surfaces. The go UNDER the servo horns. Take Your
time, & enjoy.

Due to my awesome building this happened. Should I just add some extra welders and make up the gap or cut the EPP. I'm probably going to make up the 1/8" gap with welders. Its not like it will make a difference in a year after flying this
