Hinge tape alone, a much superior option to re-enforce any EPP hinge line.

Which way is up?

So I am thinking of trying an idea I saw here somewhere (memory shot, lol). Said to very, repeat, very lightly score the top of the hinge with sharp xacto knife to free it up some. Cut through the welders that I put on.

Cool jimbo we'll be waiting for videos.

It's not really scoring it but scrapping the welders off, at least that how I read it. I had acetone laying around for taking welders off and it works to free the hinges as well.

I have acetone, I have a hard time remembering which solvents/thinners are safe for which foams. Acetone is ok on EPP? I know it eats pink foam very fast.

That sounds like a better option if it works. It was me that said I cut through the glue but not the foam when I made the same mistake with my Edge but then I am a bit of a butcher at times.

Going by feel and sometimes it would take a few light passes until I could feel that I had reached the foam but not cut through it. The tape you have at the ends should be enough so anything in between that is just stiffening your hinge in my experience.

2s or 3s!!! that's the beauty of the stock power set. Change the prop, change the pack and change the beast your flying it really doesn't matter as long as your having fun and with the Pitts that's a given.
i run a small bead of welders all the way down the hinge line and then fold it back and wipe the hinge with my finger to get a thin coat all the way down the line,a little stiff at first but my suface doesn't come apart

I love the dual ailerons, they look Super cool.
I can see a maiden coming on, perhaps this evening... If weather plays ball, my guess is the fat Pitts won't like the wind..

Yeah the acetone doesn't hurt epp, that's how I reuse the hardware little acetone to loosen things up. Be careful with it around the servos it melts the casing on em.

Well, she has flown. Wow, I very pleasantly surprised. She flys superbly. No trims required and straight into hangs and harriers. This baby kicks ass!
She also handled the wind very well. Flew the CY as well to compare.
It was an excellent maiden and no damage!

Yeah i have to agree with you there. The extra mass/area make the flying quite different.

That's what I've been waiting for Jimbo. Can't argue with that for a maiden, your rolling circles are really coming on. That flying field of yours is great, masses of room. How are you getting on with your ExtraVaganza?
