Can Spads be used for AP ?

Hello friends

My friend wants to do some aerial photography and i suggested a spad,
however why did i ?

Are there any spad planes that will deliver,
something that flies slowly and stable with ap goodies attached.

He's pretty pro, got a gimble (professional camera mount) and pretty nice camera.

Then should it be made a pusher to avoid the prop being in the camera ?

I don't think anyone has done it yet. But yes one could. You would probably want something with a fair amount of wing area so it can fly a little slower, but it depends on the shutter speed et cetera. Probably a trainer type of plane with a flat bottom Clark Y airfoil shape to it. Yeah a pusher prop plane would let you point the camera forward, but you can just as easily have the camera face out to the side too.

I use an Electric Debonair. It has a flat RNAF wing instead of a 4mil wing with dihedral. The wing is same dimensions as given in the deb plans.

It is the plane with the mostly white wing with checkers on the end in this picture.

Here is the camera mount. It swivels, but I usually take pictures out the side.

AP and which plane

Coroplast and a KF wing design are a good match and could not be simpler to put together. Have a look in the scratchbuilt foamies section for information about KF wing designs.

I also found some good coroplast gluing info here.

I was looking at an article that ended up having information on gluing
coroplast. Since we sometimes discuss and use coroplast I thought the
information in the link below might be of some use.

In the same article there was information about some software that allows a
person to "unfold" a 3D type image. I thought that may be of some use as well.

Yep I have used a spad wing for AP, just something we bashed together and not pretty. This looks pretty handy for lifting.

An electric USS has just gotten done on the SPADworld forum, he had to extend the nose quite a bit but it would make a good platform, I have a gas powered one and it's a fun, easy plane to fly.
