How to dye rubber bands?

Anyone ever tried to dye rubber bands? (Large ones, to hold a wing down.) I'd like mine to be black...

Thanks again!

A suitably sized and colored strip of covering film, sealed at the front of the wing and with the help of a piece of clear tape at the back, will cover your rubber bands. Some airfoils don't even need the piece of tape but some flap.

I used to just keep my rubber bands in a coffee can with a couple tbsp. of corn starch between use. It doesn't make much difference in appearance but, at my age, I can't see the rubber bands past about 20 feet anyway and they last almost indefinitely!!! One can even still tape a piece of film over them or even fair them in with wood or glass. Or? One could just take pictures without rubber bands and ignore them while one is flying. Personally, I concern myself more with their integrity than their appearance.

I found a fantastic source of purple rubber bands to match my purple Gentle Lady. The color is not perfect, but it is much closer than the natural tan of the rubber.

Where? Well, let's just say that I can buy up stock in fresh asparagus.

I can't think o f a veggie that takes black rubber bands, I'm afraid. I haven't gotten around to trying it myself, but have you considered trying food coloring?

I actually did try Google, and all I got was this multi pack of color coded different size 'bands. The only purple 1/4" #64 rubber bands I could find were on a difficult-to-navigate ag supply site. My next step would be to call them and place an order, but I haven't had the funds or the motivation to do so.
