where do I start?

I was looking in to buying a more aerobatic plane from what I have now which is just a park flyer trainer. I am really good at making just about anything so I started looking in to making my own and then I found Scratch Built and way too much info.
basically I would like to make a very simple, some what fast and aerobatic plane (around 20" or larger wingspan) and can glide well

I also posted this https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1642931 as something I would really llike to build but I am open to any suggestions

If you look at the 'Sticky' threads, (at the top of this forum), then there is loads of information on building, also a thread full of links to free plans and the build threads.

If you browse this thread, you will be able to see the options in one place, and get a feel for the kind of plane you might want to do, then go to the build thread(s) and see how the designer did his and what the issues have been with the plane. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1333878

I went to the other thread you started in the beginner section, and think the Mikey's pylon racer might be a bit much for a second plane 4s pack and heavy motor won't go well with a 20"+ span plane for a second one. What was the "parkflyer" you have learned on? Want to get a feel for just how much experience you have. Was it a 3 channel or 4 channel? What radio did you use for it? How do you define acrobatic? loops rolls, simple maneuvers, or hovering, rolling circles, the whole 3D experience? You can build a BlueBaby 42" span with a simple UC wing and fly 3ch (RET), replace with a KFM3 or conventional foil wing with ailerons and fly 4ch (REAT) using the same fuselage/motor/reciever/tail control surfaces. There's probably been more BluBabys built than any other plane in this forum, so there will be plenty of known options and help for the build. This video will show the kind of acrobatics I've done with mine: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...lubabi+aileron. As far as speed, it won't fly 70 mph, but it'll go 30 at least, and that gets small pretty fast.

It has about a 44" span. AUW is around 24 ounces. Controls are A/R/E/T

I just completed one of those a few weeks ago and got out to the field with it hardcore over the weekend. This plane is great. Handles well, is very responsive, I'm getting 7 minutes of flight time on a 3S 2250 mAh pack using this setup.

Motor L2210A-1650 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=14732
ESC 40A http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10315
And slinging a 7x6 APC-e prop.

Last night I had it doing loops and even did a few rolls. On Saturday I wanted to see how well it did dead stick. Got it up to altitude and cut throttle, it seemed to want to glide. You could easily milk it for a 15 minute flight just using the motor to get you back up to alt.

I made this parkjet/stryker clone last week. After messing about with COG and motor thrust angles I had it flying quite well. It glides almost as well as a real Stryker and with a cheap AXN Clouds Fly replacement motor I clocked it at 40 mph on a low pass. It can't do hovers or 3D type stuff but it was plenty nimble.
