New Hacker A40-10S V2 750kV & ICE75 setup confirmation
Maybe I should have put this in one of the 3DHS threads but it really is a question about power system so here I go.
Long story mde short I've got a new Hackert A40-10S V2 750kv motor abd new Castle Creations ICE75. The Hacker is the recommened motor and 3DHS and others recommend a APC 14x7E prop. I also have a 13x6.5 but since others have told me they are using a 14x7 I have not tried the 13x6.5 but wonder if maybe I should.
I'm running on 4000maH, 4S1P battery that are 45/90C rated.
Depending on which web site you go to the A40-10S V2 750kv specs are different. Aero Tech (http://www.aero-tech.ch/en/hacker-a4...0a-p-1488.html) shows one set of numbers, ADC (http://www.adchobbystore.com/Hacker-..._44.html)shows something different. I guess at the end of it all I should just fly it and if it get to hot then I have to much prop
OK, so that isn't working for the maiden flight. I need some comfort level that it won't burn up in the maiden flight. Also I'm no 3D guru but I'd like to be. Thus I hope this plane will help me learn. But for now I sport aerobatic fly which probably pushes the power system different than 3D?
ecals with the 14x7 say 76amps which is greater the ICE 75 rating. My watts up meter shows peak amps at 59.4 which is well withing ICE75 spec. ICE75 data logging reports 77.4 amps. What do I beleive? And I only need worry if I flew the whole flight at 100% throttle, right?
But all of these current values are higher than the values published by Hacker that came with the motor that says max burst current is 50amps and max continous is 40 amps. So how are these people flying this motor with the setups they are reccommending? Are Hacker numbers that conservative?
My watt meter reports max watts at 876.7 but ICE75 data says 1095.
People tell me a lot of it has to do with the ICE75 setup. CC statment is must be 8khz PWM, no other PWM option is recommended by CC. But others tell me they use different PWM without problem. CC says for the rest of the settings to play with them as I can do no harm. They just warn me to only use 8khz as other setting may damage something.
I'm lost in all this. Really tempted to fly it and see what happens.
I have attached ICE75 settings and data I downloaded from a static bench test just in case anyone would be willing to confirm or help me make sense out of any of this.
i fly the hacker a40 10s with 4s and 14x7.
no problem at all and i fly it a lot near full throttle.
it is a little short for the aj slick and you will need to take a smaller xmount too.
i fly the os-750 kv in the aj slick. perfect length and its the better motor than the hacker.
