Control line fever

КР F2 ABC (4 min 4 sec)

F2a,F2b and F2c

And a record breaker
F2A World Record - Control-line model aircraft speed. (1 min 53 sec)

And off course the electric version
Speed Elektro (0 min 40 sec)

The smoke trail at the end is the last gasp of the esc!
Only got up to 262 km/h: Speed Controller blew after 15 seconds flight

R/c portions reminded me as to why I prefer FF and CL.

As for the CL stunt, is no one 4 cycling anymore? I used to fly back in the 60's and we were trying to get slower lap times.

Will be attempting ClL scale in near future, with longer than normal lines for usual engine sizes. Trying to avoid the "rock on a string" image.

The majority of engines cannot do a 4-cycle

There never were a great many. The Fox 25 (3 bolt backplate models) -29-35, of course, the Johnson "S", Veco 35 Series 100, OS Max S 35 and H 40, Super Tigre G21 46 and V51 / 60. However, even in the old steel cylinder and iron piston days, other Johnsons besides the S, and various K&B engines, etc were used for stunt, but no 4-2-4 run.

Not all Fox engine owners wanted to run the classic breaking run, either. A friend who visits these forums, Jim Thomerson, ran his in a straight two-cycle, just not leaned out. It's the way that I run my various OS FP engines, what I call a "Rich Two Stroke", and you match them up with a very low pitch prop, such as a 10-4 for an FP 25, and an 11-4 for an FP 40, so that the prop is more of a speed limiter than the engine rpms.

So, are the Fox/McCoy/ Johnson/ Topredo .35 and the planes they flew, no longer viable in the stunt genre? You know Noblers , larks, Ruffy's etc???

Once a year in Tucson, at VSC

A few local contests offer classic events, but VSC is the big one, and yes, you will hear plenty of four-stroking during those four days. I still have several Fox 35s that I owned before eBay gave access to old engines I'd always wanted, or had taken (burglary), and when I started in 1998 on eBay, I often got real bargains.

My favorite is my very last and newest, I ordered it direct from Fox, with the ABC cylinder and piston, hemi head, stuffer backplate, etc

My next most appreciated Fox 35 was completely stealthed by Willie Wiley, and runs like a Super Tigre G21 35.
