Hull Correction

After the resign and mat had dried I removed the tape and sanded the balsa block at the bow to the proper shape. Once this was done, I mixed some Bondo and applied it to both sides of the hull.

Hull Correction

Nice work on the bow looking good!!! , The Dumas deck is over built take out most of the beams and the side ribs because the deck will not fit in the hull.

I had the same reaction. To hear from the man himself is great. Just got to do justice to all the fine parts he built for this conversion.

Drive Train

I'm going to be using a triple screw set up but it will not be a true scale drive train. I will be using struts from MACK Products along with their stuffing tubes and propeller shafts. If it's one thing that I always worry about it's drilling holes in a beautiful fiberglass hull. Especially one that is no longer made. I have always had trouble getting a perfect alignment for smooth operation. What's great about this is I get to do it 3 times. Oh boy!

Thanks very much, and you are right they usually put a date in the hull but in this case there was not one.
