Thanks guys, it has been interesting to learn about the Mark XIII. Building jigs sometimes takes longer than making the parts but I need all the help I can get. Some folks are blessed with natural abilities and I just wish I was one of them. They could have cut all those grooves in the torpedo free hand while watching TV and eating a sandwich and done a better know who you are out there.

Today I worked on the details on the aft section of the Mark XIII. I tried two different techniques to replicate access panels on the body of the torpedo. I also tried to scribe some smaller panels but with limited success.

Grav, I suggest you make a dozen extra torpedoes right now while you are in 'production mode' because you will be able to sell them easy and get some money back on this kit investment.

K, I am not sure how these will turn out in the end. Nice of you to think they are good enough to offer to other folks for their boats. Today is tail fin day. Stay tuned it will good to get this part done. It seems like I have been working on Mark XIII's for months.

Exclent workmanship, may have to trash my boat and start over after looking at your work, if you do decide to mfg/sell any of the PT boat parts you have made I would be insterested for my PT.

Ditto for me as well ! Clearly you are a master and we would all be honored to share in your craftsmanship if you decide to manufacture the torpedoes .

I had a thought, for the small panels like that make yourself a template and just paint the outline of the panels (and the screwholes if you want to go crazy), and use a stiff bristle brush and pounce the outlines on (like people who do stenciling in arts and crafts). Not sure if that would work. The torps look great, and I am still watching what you are doing eagerly.

Foo, thanks for the idea, I had not thought about that. I will do some testing to see what will happen. I just spent two hours putting together a jig and building the first vertical fin. Too much time adding the styrene parts to the resin castings. Got to come up with a way to cast the completed part.

For the past couple of days I have been working on the tail fins for the torpedo. The vertical and the horizontal fins are the same size and shape. Where they differ is the control surfaces. I guess you would say rudder and elevator. I ended up making 9 fins out of styrene for casting.
