XAircraft X6 DIY-HEXA or DJI Flame Wheel 550?

To Whom has flown both... Wich one of those would be best suited for amateur aerial videography? I'm planning on using the Naza or the Arduino mega v2, and some quiet motors not the noisy DJIs. A gimbal for sure, 2 axis, not too expensive...

Thanks in advance for inputs!

David, I can tell about the XAircraft frame as I never saw one, but the F550 frame is quite heavy, flexible and takes 36 screws to mount it. And that is if you are not soldering the electric parts on the frame, otherwise you have at least 14 points to solder too!
You are not thinking about disassembling it for easy transport, are you?! LOL
But I guess X6 is almost the same.

And good that you are not thinking about DJI motors, the 2212 920KV I got on my F550 wine like hell! Stay as far away from them as possibile to avoid headaches, literally!
Not to mention the wird props fit and DJI propellers that has a break in flight reputation!

But then you have to consider that DJI just lowered the F550 frame price to... $48 !!!
It seems everything in multirotors world is heavily overpriced but now that seems more like a reasonable price for a plastic frame!
Even if X6 standard is a bit bitter I don't think it's worth more than twice that price.

And if F550 frame was so bad I don't think GGoodrum and other guys would be doing a $700 gimbal for it!
Just don't expect too much from it.

Yes i saw the price drop on saturday and made the plunge! I ordered pretty much everything from Got heli rc... I-motors, Ipeaca Iq escs, naza, cheap gimbal, longer legs, 10" props... It's good enough for me for a starter kit.

Thank you for saving my thread Velociraptor! ;-)

How is it going with your F550?

well, we have many customers who succesfully use the fw550 even for semiprofessional jobs.
it is usually their start into this business and they do not have to spent too much, to give it a try, business wise.
later on, it is easy to adjust with better motors, high quality gimbals etc.
but for this price, it is hard to beat.
as i have never flown the xaircraft product, i cannot give first hand info..but the products looks well designed, there is no issue i can see with this.
they both are good, just let price and or optic decide..

For $48 F550 frame is sure a winner.
Only problem I see is it's flexibility and weight.
Would be nice to have a carbon frame F550 to compete with X6 carbon.
But one thing I just noticed I like better on X6 is the simple cheap landing gear upgrade and frame support for gimbals. Something DJI can easily add to a CF550 V2.
