I think you can go back to post #19 and get an idea of what's applied at the factory --

Tam,

Just checked and Horizon has almost if not all of the spare parts in stock for the F4 so if all u need is a wing it wouldn't be hard to get yours going again. Just a thought.

I was afraid of that.

Well, I can at the least uncover the outer wing panels and recover them in Coverite neon red. That and the red and white tail should make the bird easy enough to see.

Sorry to see it go down on Maiden, Tam. I feel your pain. I had a PA Bandit crash on Maiden, due to the HS-5065MG Servo frying (DO NOT USE THIS SERVO) on a 6v BEC. And that was the second bird I lost to the HS-5065MG servo....all 5065 servos have been returned, and I'll stick with HS-65MG's from now on.

Good luck on the rebuild.

Sorry to hear that.
I had success with 85mg and 5085 digital.
Servo can burn easy if the surface control are binding too while doing install.
I alway set it at neutral and dial down the ATV when set up the servo.

I just got off the phone with Horizon. I was told that it would be the end of May before I got mine. I guess that I will still have to be patient!

servo selection

I recognize the need to overkill everything. It here goes.
I have 4 hs65mg servos that I was considering for the ailerons flaps. Given the small surface areas of the f4, any thoughts on using these?

This is one airframe that looks like it will reward keeping it light rather than reward extra stuff.

No wonder they called the A-4 the "Scooter" tiny in comparison.
Maybe when they come out with there Delta - V 120mm they could make the Skyhawk and that would be a nice size
