I love the paint, but Scorp's right. You need to cut AT LEAST 2 inches off of that pickup...

That is my special "static testing only" pickup that runs to a deep glacier fed spring to keep things cool. Shhh, it's top secret.

Made a little more progress today but it was very little. A small group of us went to Ackerman this morning to replace our old crab trap buoys with pool noodles. They're a lot easier on your boat if you happen to hit one and the visibility factor is improved as well.

After getting home had lunch and thought I'd start a load of laundy while working on the boat. That went sour after the washing machine took a crap on the final spin cycle. I can't really complain a lot as it's close to 20 years old but it did mess up my afternoon considerably. Used up quite a bit of time bailing water out of it with a kitchen pot and bucket and wringing out my clothes by hand before putting them in the dryer in small parcels of a few items each load since they were still pretty wet. Guess I'll visit Lowes or HH Greg tomorrow and see about getting a new one.

Wound up doing a remake on my motor mount template after getting the motor bolted to it and finding it needed more angle than the 1st mount was made for. Now I can take it and the motor over to Dave. He's going to try making my mounting plates from some 1/8" aluminum while doing the jackets.

It's mostly clean and professional looking because I haven't cluttered it up putting electronics in it yet scorp. I can remedy that clean & professional look soon. It really is a nice hull though.

You can make it as ucluttered as possible by shortening all wiring. If you use the electronics exclusively in this hull, making them as short as possible will help with performance and looks.

It's been a busy evening for me but not so much with actually getting anything physically done on the boat.Stopped by Rich's house on the way home from work to pick up some boat molds he was wanting out of his way, and checked on getting Ray a REK leg while there.

Then, went over to visit with Dave for a few and left the motor mount template with him. Took a motor along for him to check and the 1515 Neu jacket will be a good fit. Probably be a couple of weeks before having the mounts and jackets done but not a big deal. I have boats to prep for a race this coming weekend anyways.

The rudder showed up today so did a little mockup to see how the relationship to the props would be with those long stingers. I think it will work. Opinions?
The stingers are bolted on while the rudder was just taped for the photo and no holes drilled for it yet..

Beat me to that one.

I did drill the holes for the rudder mounting last night since you liked it and didn't hear a "don't do it" from anyone else. That's the 3rd one of those rudders I've installed and it gets a little easier to deal with the way it's done each time. Think this one turned out the best so far but didn't bother with shooting a photo of it bolted in place.

The boats going to the races this weekend are all prepped, batteries are charged, and even found some time to install the water pickups today. (Took the day off from work to prep boats and wait on the delivery of the washing machine).
Oh... did a load of laundry, too. The new one sure is a lot quieter than the old one was.
