Question

Anybody use this wattmeter? Multi-function Wattmeter FD-WM

Hi Guys,

I posted this over in the "Power systems group", didn't get any hits there so I thought I would ask here:

I came across this wattmeter on Ebay, I'm trying to get some opinions about it. Anybody out there have any experience with one?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Multi-functi...item23127afe80

Thanks Much,

Bill

I bought one review in last post today.

Your link says it's been removed..

Did it sound too good to be true?

I don't know why that Ebay link quit here is another, maybe not too good to be true, but has some pretty nice features and is small enough to go up in some planes.

Original link is still there at this time.

It is now a "private listing", which is no big deal. Maybe it was removed temporarily while it was changed to a private listing?

That looks a little weak Bill.
For $9 more bucks I'd get this one.

I've got the GT Power meter in the link above. Works great. I'm happy with it, and it's plenty accurate. Plus, its display is a major advantage over the eBay one; you can see all your parameters at once versus having them come up one at a time. Keeping test runs as short as possible is important if you want to avoid component damage.

Nice, but the one Bill linked to is meant to go in the plane and record inflight readings.

The Turnigy and GT meters look identical on all levels except the label, and it's just not like the Chinese to independently develop two products with such a level of similarity I suppose they could have different firmware which might affect performance in some way, but I can't imagine that there would be all that much of a difference.

The meter saves and scrolls max current, min voltage, max power, and the total amp-hours and watt-hours used, in addition to the three fixed momentary readouts (A, V, W). No buttons to fiddle with, either
