Question
eflite power 90 on 5s? what would happen?
forum, im running a power 90 with a 100a esc (specs call 6-8s) i want to test my spinner to make sure its true however i dont have my 6s pack just yet.
i do have a 5s pack and im wondering if that would cause any damage to just test it? (i am just testing not flying) thanks! |

and you were correct! thanks! any idea why my spinner would (very little but noticeable) wobble? its a CF spinner thats included with my red aero 30cc mxs breitling. am i suppose to balance it?

You can balance spinners, but it can be a little tricky. One thing to keep in mind, after you have it balanced, is to put a mark (I usually put a little file groove) on the spinner and back plate so you can align these marks when you mount the spinner. If you balance it and then mount it differently than the way it was aligned on the balancer you will have wasted your time.

Mount the parts one at a time, checking for loose fits, eccentricity, crooked mountings, and the like. Start with nothing on the motor and check for smoothness and balance. Then add the back plate, use washers to fill the prop hub area, try reversing the spinner in it's mounting holes, etc., etc.
When all of that is running smooth, add a prop. Eventually you'll find where the problem is. Jack |

And if the holes in the back plate or the prop are too large, you can apply layers of heat shrink tubing or tape around the prop adapter shaft to take up the radial play or slack as the parts are fitted but don't put it on so that the prop nut wants to compress is. At the end of it all, the parts will be in a well centered and prop nut will pull the stack together.

wow awesome info!
yeah i tried stretching some shrink tubbing but the backplate virtually has no clearance so when i slide the back plate on it crushes the shrink tubbing. maybe a piece of tape cut perfectly might do it. thanks people! |
