Wow, what sort of flight time do you get with that lot? I have 2 x 6s compacts I use in my scale heli and agree they are a good battery..

I only have 20mn cause my engines are really powerful (350W) and my propellers are very heavy BUT there is definitively 000000 vibrations with this combo !!

My last showreel shot only with ECILOP :
THOMAERO - Showreel_2012 (1 min 40 sec)

And some other shot ...
ESTIA - Ecole Supérieure des Technologies Industrielles Avancées (1 min 25 sec)

How are your Gyroscopes Turnigy Mini MEMS settings

Can you please share your Gyroscopes Turnigy Mini MEMS settings for my ecilop with NAZA/11x5 Graupners?

What Gyros are people using on their Ecilops now? I've got 401Bs on mine but heard the new ones are not the same and don't perform well. I want to pick up a couple more gyros as a backup.

I have played with 5 x different gyros. Here is my experience:

Assan mems gyro - CRAP. Dont even bother.
Align GP 780 gyro - OK but hard to get setup. Not the best for Ecilop but works with small movements.
Turnigy MEMS gyro - OK, similar to GP780. Harder to set up and difficult to get smooth "no movement:" footage. Hold horizon and returns to center very well though.
Futaba 401 - Couldnt get this to work well.
Hobbyking HK 401B. BEST GYRO I HAVE USED. Takes a lot of work to find two that are smooth, and can benefit from the hot glue gun modification, but works very well. Paired with a fast low deadband servo this works really well.

I have since taken the Turnigy mems gyros off my Ecilop and replaced with 401b's.

Servos seem less critical - used align, Turnigy and MKS a Align. All seemed to work ok.

I just got my hands on the second 401b that I needed to complete my build. Could you explain what you mean about the hot glue gun mod on that gyro.

Thanks dude!

Drum, you just should put hot glue around all gyros in them.

@JELICO I agree with you, but where do you find these old gyros 401B ?

mine arent the "old ones".. What I did was go through 12 (yes twelve) of the new ones until I found 2 that worked without too much jitter. Then did the hot glue mod, which is basically ipening the casing up and filling the space with hot glue so that the sensors cant move around inside the case. Then make sure they are mounted with a gel tape or gyro mounting tape ( I use the 3m picture mounting stuff). Viola!

Ah good to hear the 401Bs still do work. I've been very happy with the performance of the old ones. Hopefully I won't have to go through 12 before I find a good pair.

I'm getting slightly unstable performance, and I think it's because the flight controller is mounted on the far left of the top equipment platform, and the platform itself flexes and moves quite a bit. The platform wobbles if I give it a tap with my finger. I've tried mounting the whole FC inside some foam, but that doesn't really help. Has anyone come across this and solved it? It doesn't seem like there is enough clearance for the camera arm to mount the FC to the rigid bottom part of the frame.
