had some nice flights today.. much better performance with the gyro change.
and also really nice having fpv cam for checking where the cam is pointing

hardest thing now is setting cam up to not be under or over exposed. nex5n is aweful in auto mode.

Got an E-tech G105 gyro in the post yesterday and took it apart immediately. Looks like it has the gyro component of the old HK401b, so hooked it up and it seems much more mellow in response and completely unlike the new HK401b. I did a quick flight which was reasonable but I can't judge properly till I've got another one for the pitch. I've ordered a "Mystery G105" branded one which I'm assuming is the same as E-Tech as I couldn't get a second E-Tech.

when i was emailing that shop, he said the GAZ-126 was similar to the etech, and both these were better than the new 401b. pretty helpfull really when i was on my hunt for old HK's

my new props arrived today so got them on and ready to test. 12 38 instead of 11 47
should have better flight time and more thrust according to ecalc

reckon ill have to change the gains much? think i need to up my gains abit anyway because in manual mode it was very hard to control. think upping gains will hlelp.

I haven't thought too hard about props yet and have been running the Gemfan 12x45's that were suggested when ordering Naza/motors/lipos etc.

Interested to hear some more results with G105. I am thinking about trying that gyro too depending on the 401B performance.

I am gonna test GA250 with custom firmware... I will post results here (maybe tomorrow)

tested this mornign with the new bigger props. feels much safer now, actually have power in reserve. and hopefully its as efficient, if not slightly more.
weather was pretty rubbish, so had to have iso real high, and it doesnt look very good haha.

was adjusting my gains though, and increased them loads ( over 200 on basic gains) but its now controllable in manual mode. woop.
atti gain adjustment next flight. really should have done this to start with, but when it flew on the original gains i couldnt be bothered haha.

I have 30A Turnigy Plush, standard firmware. I am not off the ground yet though, still waiting for a few parts...

Ok. Thinking I may order a set too just in case. The layout looks identical to GY401. I haven't been through this gain stuff yet so I still don't fully understand the issue.
