to get the best results with the 45xx series you need bigger blades like 11x20 or more as we just use.

That's awesome! Looks like I see gold inside the front, but the back end / stator holder is a new piece correct?

I don't see a place for the prop yet. How many blades will this one get?

Hi Steve! The stator is complete new cnc-drilled by my colleaugue Stefan Bayer who makes all the parts for the new motors, yokes and so on! The yoke for the prop in Ralphs "armor piercing granade" special design will be integrated in the middle part above the cooling holes! Prop i think will be the new
13x27 prop! Not sure if 2 or 3-bladed!

First of all,very nice work even without the klowledge about the numbers Ralf is talking about!!!

The ventiation holes at the front look like beeing enlarged to the spinner direction.

In my understanding they are the outlet ,so they throw out cooling air at spinning rotor,what is your intention to modify the holes like this?
wouldnt it be even better to keep the airflow angle more backwards, or even keep the sharp corner to benefit from the low presure spot created by the excelerated airflow behind the prop?
Or do you want to reverse the airflow after motor stops?

there is nothing left from the former radial fan anymore.
the airstream in these motors is completely inverted.

the air is pressed with 400km/h and more throup airgap and slots.
this helps to increase the overload factor massiv.

I usually cut off everything except the last 1/4" of the tinned wire, leaving much shorter leads !!

And here all this time I thought Mopar was ordering his motors custom built with stubby leads!
I've ripped into very other part of these motors, but haven't bothered to have a peek under the insulation
I have a feeling lots of wire strippers and nippers will be going to work with this info

Time to test the big Mega.

Am going to put the big Mega (22/60/1E) in the Monster today and decided to move all testing from the build thread over here. I will be doing a flight video soon which will be posted on the build but all additional motor testing will be done here.

Will have to make some slight mods to get the motor in the plane.
First...the motor mount was made for Neu motors which do not have that pesky ring on the front. I do not want to weaken my plate with drilling the center hole larger so hopefully Chris can make an aluminum plate that fits on the front of the motor and will allow it to bolt flush without drilling the main plate.

The Mega is longer than the Neu considerably but it is heavier and the battery will have to move back some anyway.

I have two sets of folders to try with this setup Marcus' 7x13's and Downunders 7x10's. I also have two fixed 7.6x12.5's on the way from Marcus so will have some interesting props and combinations to test.

The hope is to get a 6S setup that will get me to 250mph/400kph. That is the goal for this build.

This winter I am going to get another airframe from Andi and that one will be built with outrunners in mind. Will be winding my own motor from a Scorpion kit....winter project!
