2012 Park Flying Freestyle Contest

This years 2012 Park Flying Freestyle Contest (PFFC) is officially announced.

Grand prize is your choice of 40" 9mm DW Foamies 3D plane. These are IMHO the best flying foamies on the market. These foamies fly like giant scale planes and are great at 3D and pattern.

New twist this year on prizes. The top 50% of entries will go into a drawing for the top prize. Other prizes will be randomly drawn from all entries.

Another new twist is allowing the use of cuts Two cuts are allowed in the video. This is to allow higher quality of performance. No more ''man, it was perfect until the last 30 seconds....." just edit out the bad flying lol.

40% Choreography, timing and execution to music
20% Precision and difficulty of program
20% Use of airspace and placement of manuevers
20% Variety. slow, fast, high, low etc

JUDGES to be announced later.

FUN FUN FUN that's the #1 rule. Here's the rest.
Contestants should fly an aerobatic freestyle routine synchronized to their music of choice.

The video should be made after April 23, 2012 and not entered into another event or demo.

Flights must be outdoors.

Entries must be uploaded to vimeo.com or youtube.com and referenced on this thread by .. UPDATE Sept. 18, 2012.

Any electric model under 61" wingspan and 100 oz. can be flown.

Flights must be between 2:00 and 4:00 minutes. Landings and takeoffs are not necessary.

NEW NEW NEW, you are allowed a maximum of two cuts in the video.

No post production effects other than introductory and conclusion titling can be made with these exceptions -- 1) transition effect is allowed for cuts, and 2) music can be mixed in later to ensure high fidelity in the final video.

Please identify yourself at the beginning of your video with RCG or FG handle.

I'm enjoying putting a freestyle together. It's fun seeing the improvement from year to year.

Can we get a head count on who's entering?

Note: because of the trend for bigger and bigger electric models, the wing span limit has been increased to 61".

If other tasks, weather and equipment permit, I'm also considering taking part in the event.
