Just back from my first flight with the V70. No surprises, stock set-up:
Black Magic LiPo 4000 mAh/30C (310 gr + 35 gr lead in the nose); 1110 gr AUW, CG ca 80 mm from leading edge. 5 min flight=37% capacity left in the battery.
Good elevator response, a bit sluggish on ailerons (I had 10 mm throw, should be inreased a bit). Easy to fly, landed with spoilerons (+10 mm) in the grass.
Only problem: the motor wouldnŽt start, completely dead. I increased the "throw" on throttle channel to +/- 110% in my Futaba T10CG - problem solved!
Only mod: an extra hatch latch (I do not trust the magnets...)

Cheers,
Anders

I don't thing so.
U can remove one of the wings when you want to transport. (the one without the servo wires hole). It makes the plane a million times less cumbersome.

Based on what the other guys here experienced, CA is good for everything except the plastic wing mount. That needs a glue that bonds to both materials better.

After a certain speed, you may end up with destructive wing flutter. The plane is quite slippery so it doesn't take too much to get up to that speed by diving.

You may also experience blowback of the control surfaces, since they're made of foam. The plane is more for aerobatics and fun than top speed

Yeah great idea can't wait for it!!! but could the fluttering be caused by tensioned wings?? may be if you ease the tension then the wings can bend, therefore no flutter.

What about this guys? How about putting in a fish bone pattern of fiber glass or carbon rods into the Zephyr's wings?

This is a pic from the e-flight wiki of the multiplex Blizzard. The fiber glass rods are set down into the wings in pre-molded groves. The rods are on both the top and bottom of the wings. I bet you could cut groves into the Zephyr's wings to install the same type of reinforcement. The pic is originally from David the rc-explorer guy's build log of the multiplex blizzard.

That could possibly help as the wing twists, not bends at speed.

So I guess the best solution may be to just glass the wing and call it a day

Have tested my thrust on 3s with and without a thrust tube.

Stock 3s: 700grams of thrust.
56mm thrust tube 3s: 820grams of thrust.
Roughly a 15% gain.

It was a very average home made thrust tube and I'm sure better results will come with a better tube but the thrust gain for five minutes of slapping together a tube is evidently there.
